BCSD Agrees to Sell Property for New Church

Where there was once an Elementary School, will now sit a church.

The Burlington School Board agreed to sell the empty 3.63 acre lot to Crossroads Community Church for $105,000. Board President Marlis Robberts says she’s heard only one complaint from citizens about the deal….

“I have received an e-mail or two expressing concerns from some citizens. They want to make sure it’s going to be a developed use of the property and that we are maximizing future tax dollars. That’s something to consider, that since there will be a church there, that may not be maximizing future tax dollars.”

Regardless, the board decided to go ahead and sell the empty lot. Crossroads Community Church is currently located in Downtown Burlington and will soon be at the corner of Agency and Curran.
