Thanks to the new Iowa Fertilizer Plant in Wever, the Fort Madison YMCA has already reached more than half of their $23,000 goal through a match donation program.
The plant will present the $15,000 check at a press conference this Friday at 9am at the Fort Madison YMCA. The money raised will be allocated to improvements and updates to the facility, including new flooring.
The fertilizer plant is a $1.8 billion project and will employ more than 165 permanent employees, once construction is complete late next year.
