Shooting at Catfish Bend; Police Question Suspect

IOWA DCI SPECIAL AGENT JEFF UHLMEYER SAYS THEY’RE NOW TALKING TO A PERSON-OF-INTEREST, IN CONNECTION WITH LAST(WED) NITE’S SHOOTING IN THE CATFISH BEND CASINO PARKING GARAGE.

 

NO ONE WAS HIT, BUT A DCI AGENT FIRED THREE SHOTS AT A FLEEING CAR THIEF SHORTLY AFTER 9 LAST(WED) NITE, WHEN THE MAN STOLE AN EMPLOYEE’S VEHICLE AND TRIED TO RUN THE AGENT DOWN.   THE SUSPECT…DESCRIBED BY AUTHORITIES AS A BLACK MAN WEARING A HEAVY OVERCOAT AND A STOCKING CAP…HIT THE AGENT’S CAR AND THEN SPED OFF.  THE STOLEN VEHICLE WAS FOUND A SHORT TIME LATER AND IS BEING PROCESSED FOR EVIDENCE.

 

BURLINGTON POLICE AND THE STATE’S DIVISION OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION ARE BOTH ON THE CASE AND ANYONE WITH MORE INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL 753-8371.
