City Council to Deal with Financial Matters, Trees

THE BURLINGTON CITY COUNCIL MEETS TONITE(TUE) AND WILL DEAL WITH SEVERAL FINANCIAL MATTERS, INCLUDING AN AMENDMENT TO ITS BONDING AGREEMENT WITH THE PIPER-JAFFRAY UNDERWRITING COMPANY…A RESOLUTION APPROVING A 120-MILLION DOLLAR LIST OF URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTIONS…AND SETTING A MARCH 3RD PUBLIC HEARING FOR NEXT YEAR’S BUDGET.

 

THE COUNCIL WILL ALSO CONSIDER A 32-THOUSAND DOLLAR BID FROM BOUGHTON’S TREE SERVICE TO TAKE OUT ABOUT FOUR DOZEN ASH TREES IN THE CITY’S RIGHT-OF-WAYS…AND MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO FORMALIZE A 5-YEAR SUSPENSION OF ITS 62-HUNDRED-DOLLAR-A-YEAR PAYMENT TO THE BURLINGTON BEES.   TONITE’S(TUE) COUNCIL MEETING BEGINS AT 6:30 AND IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
