Several fire crews from around the area were called to Mount Union tonight to fight a fire that had fully engulfed a machine shed.
The fire broke out at around 5:30pm at 22728 240th Street (a Mount Union address but a Yarmouth territory). There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is still undetermined. Yarmouth Fire Cheif John Crouch said they needed the extra help…
“We needed them mainly for water.”
It took about two hours for crews from Danville, Mediapolis, New London, Mt. Union, and Winfield to kill the fire. Crouch said the shed is a total loss..
“Rough estimate is about $150,000 on the shed and about $300,000 on the contents.”
