It’s not an uncommon problem this winter, but in a village the size of Oquawka, frozen water service and septic lines are giving residents fits.
Certified water operator Jenna Link syas they ‘ve got a list of more than 20 homes already and are dealing with the situations one by one.
Oquawka is a realtively small town of about 1,500 people, and Link says its two public works employees and small equiptment can’t do it all. Link also says they have water for drinking and flushing available to those affected.
