DCI Agent from Catfish Bend Shooting is Cleared

The Des Moines County Attorney has cleared a D-C-I agent of any wrongdoing in a shooting at the Catfish Bend Casino in Burlington.

Special Agent James Jenkins fired three shots at a car after the driver drove toward him while Jenkins was investigating a report of vehicle break-ins at the garage of the casino on February 12th. The report says Jenkins was justified in firing his gun as he was trying to protect himself. The three shots hit the car, but the driver, 40-yearly David Cross, was not injured and got away. Cross was later arrested and charged with interference with official acts, assault on a peace officer and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
