Financial Talk at City Council Meeting

THERE WERE SOME FINANCIAL MATTERS DISCUSSED AT LAST(MON) NIGHT’S BURLINGTON CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION.

ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR STEPHANIE STUECKER WAS ASKED IF THERE’S ANY NEWS YET ON THE CITY’S BOND STATUS FROM THE  MOODY’S RATINGS SERVICE AND SHE SAID THEY’RE EXPECTING A CALL TOMORROW(WEDS) MORNING.

LAST WEEK, VETERAN CITY SPENDING CRITIC LEON SHAHAN WANTED TO KNOW HOW MUCH IN TAX ABATEMENTS THE CITY HANDED OUT TO DEVELOPERS AND STUECKER PULLED THOSE NUMBERS TOGETHER.  ALL TOLD, THE CITY IS ABATING MORE THAN $438,000.

STUECKER FILLED IN LAST(MON) NITE FOR CITY MANAGER JIM FERNEAU. COUNCILWOMAN BECKY SHOCKLEY WAS NOT AT THE MEETING EITHER.
