Pot Holes Galore in Burlington

It’s a problem most people in the Midwest have to endure during the winter seasons: large pot holes.

Chris Clements with Burlington’s Public Works Department says this year they’re filling more holes than last year due to the amount of snow we’ve had. He says there’s no telling how much money the city will have to spend…

“I couldn’t really put a good number on it. Like this year, it’ll be much higher than last winter, with the little snow and fewer freeze cycles [last year]. It varies a lot depending on weather and condition.”

Clements says they use two different patches to fill the pot holes, one made for colder temperatures and one for warmer conditions. Burlington crews have been trying to patch as many holes as they can in between snowfalls.
