TOP-RATED INDIAN HILLS DEFEATED THE SCC BLACKHAWKS SATURDAY NITE 93 TO 89 IN OTTUMWA, TO WIN THE REGION-11 MENS COLLEGE BASKETBALL TITLE.  THE WARRIORS MOVE ON TO PLAY EITHER WILLISTON STATE OR NORTH DAKOTA STATE COLLEGE OF SCIENCE THURSDAY FOR THE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP.   THE BLACKHAWKS MAY STILL HAVE A SHOT AT MORE POST-SEASON PLAY, HOWEVER — THE NJC-DOUBLE-A HAS A NEW FORMAT THAT ALLOWS FOUR, AT-LARGE BERTHS AND SCC COULD GET ONE.  THEY’LL MAKE THE ANNOUNCEMENT NEXT MONDAY(MARCH 10TH).

IN 3A, THE FORT MADISON BOYS PLAY GRINNELL TONITE(MON) AT 7 AT IOWA CITY WEST, IN A SUBSTATE-6 FINAL.       

 

(IN BOYS HIGH SCHOOL ACTION) SATURDAY NITE…ALBIA ENDED THE NOTRE DAME NIKES’ SEASON 61 TO 50 IN A 2A SUBSTATE GAME.     IN 1A, THE DANVILLE BEARS WERE ELIMINATED BY EASTON VALLEY 55 TO 33…AND VAN BUREN’S SEASON IS OVER; THE WARRIORS LOST TO KEOTA 53 TO 42.
