Cursing Potholes? 5-Year Street Plan to be Unveiled

THE BURLINGTON CITY COUNCIL WILL HOLD ONE OF ITS EVERY-OTHER-WEEK WORK SESSIONS TODAY(MON) AND PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR STEVE HOAMBRECKER WILL PRESENT HIS 5-YEAR STREET PLAN.

 

AFTER THAT, POLICE CHIEF DOUG BEAIRD WILL GIVE HIS DEPARTMENT’S ANNUAL REPORT. THIS(MON) AFTERNOON’S MEETING GETS UNDERWAY AT 4:30 AND THE PUBLIC IS WELCOME. THE WEST BURLINGTON CITY COUNCIL WILL ALSO HOLD A WORK SESSION TONITE(MON) AT 6, TO TALK ABOUT THE BUDGET AND A PUBLISHED, 74-CENT PROPERTY TAX HIKE.

 

THE SOUTHEASTERN COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD MEETS TODAY(MON) AT 5 AND WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING…BEFORE VOTING…ON NEXT YEAR’S BUDGET, WHICH INCLUDES A SLIGHT INCREASE IN THE LEVY RATE AND HIGHER VALUATIONS DISTRICT-WIDE. TRUSTEES WILL CONVENE ON THE WEST BURLINGTON CAMPUS AND THE PUBLIC IS INVITED.

 

THE DES MOINES AND LEE COUNTY BOARDS MEET TOMORROW(TUE) MORNING AT 9 AND BOTH WILL HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THEIR RESPECTIVE BUDGETS BEFORE APPROVING THEM.
