SCC Hires Academic V-P after Two-Year Search

THE SEARCH TOOK ALMOST TWO YEARS, BUT SOUTHEASTERN COMMUNITY COLLEGE HAS HIRED A NEW VICE-PRESIDENT OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS.

DR. CAROLE RICHARDSON WILL BEGIN HER DUTIES JUNE SECOND.   ACCORDING TO A RELEASE FROM SCC, RICHARDSON HAS 15 YEARS OF HIGHER EDUCATION EXPERIENCE, MOST RECENTLY AS VICE-PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS AT NORTH COUNTRY COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN SARANAC LAKE, NEW YORK.   BEFORE THAT, SHE WORKED AT CENTRAL MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY…HAGERSTOWN COMMUNITY COLLEGE…AMERICAN UNIVERSITY…AND SAGINAW CHIPPEWA TRIBAL COLLEGE.

SCC PRESIDENT MICHAEL ASH SAYS THE SEARCH FOR A SUCCESSOR TO FORMER V-P OF TEACHING & LEARNING…PHIL THOMAS…TOOK SO LONG BECAUSE PREVIOUS CANDIDATES DIDN’T HAVE THE DEPTH OF EXPERIENCE OR DEMONSTRATED SUCCESS THE COLLEGE NEEDS.
