Firefighters Union Urges April 7 Support

THERE’S NO BURLINGTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONITE(MON) BECAUSE OF THE EXTRA MONDAY THIS MONTH…BUT IN TWO WEEKS…AT THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING…THE CITY FIREFIGHTERS UNION IS URGING SUPPORTERS OF A NEARLY 500-THOUSAND DOLLAR FEDERAL GRANT FOR WHICH THE DEPARTMENT HAS QUALIFIED, TO SHOW UP IN-FORCE AND DEMONSTRATE THEIR ENDORSEMENT.

 

IF YOU CAN’T ATTEND THE MEETING ON THE 7TH AT 6:30, LOCAL 301 IS ASKING THAT YOU CONTACT CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS SHANE MCCAMPBELL…BECKY ANDERSON…TIM SCOTT…BOB FLEMING…AND BECKY SHOCKLEY BY E-MAIL…AVAILABLE ON THE BURLINGTON WEBSITE AT “citycouncil@burlingtoniowa.org.” THE COUNCIL HAS TO OFFICIALLY ACCEPT THE GRANT BEFORE THE CHECK WILL BE SENT.

 

MEANWHILE, THE BURLINGTON SCHOOL BOARD WILL HOLD ANOTHER WORK SESSION THIS(MON) AFTERNOON TO FURTHER DISCUSS THE BUDGET. THE DISTRICT IS IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING STAFF REDUCTIONS. THE MEETING’S AT 3 O’CLOCK AT THE ADMINISTRATION CENTER ON WEST AVENUE.
