Bees Open Season with Frosty Win

It was a cold night in southern Wisconsin, but the Burlington Bees and Beloit Snappers got to play anyway, and the Bees came out on top 5-1 in their season opener. 

The two Midwest League teams are scheduled to play again tonight and you can hear all the action on KBUR beginning with the pre-game show at 6:10.

 

 

 

In high school soccer…Burlington defeated Ft. Madison 4-2 at the RecPlex…Notre Dame-West Burlington shut out Central Lee 3-0…and the Danville-New London boys beat Holy Trinity by that same 3-0 score.

 

 

In track & field…Louisa-Muscatine swept the boys and girls competition at the Danville Co-ed Relays.   In the girls meet, Central Lee was second, followed by Danville, Winfield-Mt. Union and New London.   In the boys meet, L-M was followed by Wapello, Winfield-Mt. Union, Danville and New London.

 

At the Mt. Pleasant Co-ed Relays…Mary Wester of the Panthers won the girls shot put and discus…Burlington’s best finish was a second in the girls 4 by 100 relay team…and in the boys competition, the host team won four events and Ft. Madison three.

 

 

In boys tennis…Mt. Pleasant shutout Davis County 9-0.
