“Red Flag Warning” Issued for Our Area

The National Weather Service has issued a rare “Red Flag Warning,” for the Iowa portions of our listening area, until 7 o’clock tonight.

That means critical fire weather conditions are occurring because of a combination of strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures.

Burlington Fire Marshal Mark Crooks tells us what kind of grass and brush-fire season it’s been so far…..

Crooks advises against burning anything outdoors in this kind of weather, and partly because many brush and field fires can be difficult to fight.
