Employees of the Siemens plant in Ft. Madison today celebrated the manufacture of their 10-thousandth wind-turbine blade.

A company news release says Siemens management marked the occasion with a meal for the workers, and some words of praise by Plant Manager Tony McDowell, who’s quoted as saying the company’s success is all due to the employees’ hard work and dedication.

The celebration for the first Siemens blade milestone was celebrated in 2007.

The Fort Madison facility produces wind blades to customers in the USA, Canada, Chile, Peru, and Brazil.
