Des Moines County is now under a burn ban.
A release from Emergency Management Coordinator Gina Hardin and Assistant Mediapolis Fire Chief Andy Kerr says all open burning is prohibited until further notice, effective at 8 am today(Sat). Conditions within the county are such that open burning constitutes a danger to life or property.
Des Moines and Lee Counties are now both under outdoor burn bans until further notice.
