Terry Lee Glattfelder, 61, of Argyle, Iowa, died at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa, on Thursday, April 17, 2014.

Born on August 20, 1952 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Jack F. and Josephine Malcolm Glattfelder. He married Kathy Stagner on August 28, 1974 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Terry served in the U.S. Army and one tour in South Vietnam. He was an operating engineer in the power plant operations at IAAP. He enjoyed many outdoor activities which included boating, hunting & fishing (especially with his grandfather on the Iowa River), camping, horseback riding with the Lockridge Rough Riders, the Tri-State Gun Club, riding Vulcan and Harley-Davidson motorcycles, ATV four wheeling, coaching Little League baseball, farming & tending to cattle and attending the Tri-State Rodeo in Ft. Madison for many years. He loved all animals and his dog Rover sat at home anxiously awaiting Terry when he was gone. He also enjoyed watching Western movies and reading Western novels. He loved his family very much and was known to give a whisker rub or two to his beloved grandchildren. He was of the Protestant faith.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; one son, Jason Frank Glattfelder of Argyle, Iowa;three daughters, Sabrina Lee (Gabe Durham) Glattfelder of Keokuk, Iowa; Sondra Lee Glattfelder of Argyle, Iowa and Stephanie Jo (William) Rankin of Argyle, Iowa; three grandsons, Logan Fraise, Dylan Rankin and Caleb Rankin; one granddaughter, Chloe Durham; one brother, Randy Glattfelder of Glendale, Arizona; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Lee Anne Glattfelder who died on Dec. 26, 1982.

The funeral service for Terry Lee Glattfelder will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Prugh’s Chapel, Burlington, Iowa. Chaplain Bill Willis will officiate. Friends may pay their respect on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Prugh’s Chapel. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon one hour prior to the time of the service.

Following the funeral service, cremation will be entrusted to Prugh Funeral Service. Interment of ashes will be in Edwards Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established for the education of his grandchildren. Condolences may be left at www.prughfuneralservice.com.
