Due to the number of fires over the weekend, Des Moines County will remain under a burn ban until further notice.
Gina Hardin with Des Moines County Emergency Management says that the amount of rain we are suppose to get today, won’t be enough. Hardin says the burn ban will remain in effect for at least another week and they’ll discuss what to do after the rain we are suppose to get Thursday.
Lee County will also remain under a burn ban, with the exception of recreational fires within city limits.
