Manor Land Rezoning Up Tonight

The Burlington City Council meets tonight(Mon) and is expected to give final approval to a rezoning request for the former Flint Hills Manor property near the corner of Roosevelt and Agency.

 

Developer Bob Welstead of Omaha-based Dial Realty has plans for a restaurant, several retail stores, senior housing and a hotel, among other things. Also up for public hearings tonight(Mon) are this year’s proposed (hot-mix-asphalt) street resurfacing program and a recommendation by Mayor Shane McCampbell that regular council meetings start at 5:30, instead of 6:30 pm. On the “action” agenda for tonight are several proposed fee increases, including those charged for trash tags, solid waste, sewer use, septic hauling and storm water drainage.

 

Tonight’s(Mon) meeting is at 6:30 and the public is welcome.

 

The West Burlington School Board meets tonight(Mon) at 7 and will be asked to approve new contracts for certified and non-certified staff. Members will also discuss lunch prices, Driver’s Education, Open Enrollment and some personnel issues. The public is encouraged to attend.
