One person is dead after a head on collision today in Niota, Illinois.
63-year-old Frank Palm of Niota was west bound on IL. Route 9/96 in Hancock County when he attempted to turn left in front of 33-year-old Amber Armitage of Dallas City who was east bound. They collided head on. Both vehicles came to a rest in the intersection.
Palm was killed and authorities reported that he was not wearing a seat belt.
Armitage suffered serious injuries and was flown to Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Armitage was wearing a seat belt.
The accident occurred at around 11am. No charges are pending.
