Bakery Once on the Brink Now Expanding

Some good news on the local business and jobs front:

Baker’s Pride in downtown Burlington…which lost its biggest customer and almost had to close… is on the verge of expanding, thanks to a state-sponsored tax incentive program.

The Greater Burlington Partnership’s David Toyer told the City Council last(Mon) night that the planned growth will mean 62 new jobs, with 27 of them covered under the tax incentive program.

The first question on everyone’s mind is, how much will the new jobs pay…specifically the ones made possible by the state program.  Toyer told the council that $17.09 an hour is the minimum.

The deal won’t require any financial contribution from the City.
