The initial 9-1-1 call came in just before 9:30 this(Thur) morning as “shots fired at the Dallas City Elementary School,”
and when Hancock County Deputies, followed by Dallas City, Hamilton and Illinois State Police arrived, they locked down the building & grounds…students & staff…and conducted a search. A short time later, authorities determined the school was safe and that no one had been in any danger throughout the process, which ended shortly after 11 am.
Deputies and State Troopers continue their investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office (at 217-357-2115.)
