Even though the burn ban was lifted last week, there are still dry areas out there…
and that was in evidence yesterday(Sat) afternoon, when a good-sized brush & grass fire along the railroad tracks on the far west side of West Burlington prompted authorities to shut down train traffic for more than an hour.
No one was hurt, but the smoke got fairly heavy…and a Burlington crew helped West Burlington put out the flames with a second brush truck.
