Bees Loss Streak Now at 5

Chad Hinshaw blasted a first-inning homer, but that was it, and the Burlington Bees lost their 5th game in a row last night, 5-1 to the visiting Clinton Lumber Kings.  

 

The two teams will go at it again this morning at 11:30 at Community Field and the Bees will start Victor Alcantara(0-1) against the Clinton’s Carlos Misell(4-1).

SCC 11, Muscatine 0

West Central 4, West Hancock 1

 

In high school tennis…

The ND-WB boys won their first dual meet in the last 5-plus years, 5-4 over Davis County.   The ND-WB girls also beat Davis County 6-3

 

In girls golf…

BHS placed third at its own invitational. Pleasant Valley won it and Mt. Pleasant came in second as a team.   Individually, four PV girls took the top spots, followed by two from Mt. Pleasant.   Burlington’s Samantha Smith tied for 9th.   After BHS in the team standings, it was Assumption, Muscatine, Washington, Fairfield, Bettendorf, Davenport North, Keokuk, Davenport West, Clinton, ND-WB, then the BHS jayvees.
