Crews Continue to Look for Missing Boater

Western Illinois rescue crews continue searching for a man who disappeared after his boat flipped over on the Mississippi River Tuesday near LaClaire.

44-year-old Charles Slocum of Colona was fishing with four other people, two of those individuals being his wife and son, when the anchor broke and the boat wouldn’t start.

The four passengers survived, some were even sucked through the rollers of Lock and Dam 14, but Slocum is still missing. If he is not found today, crews will start looking again tomorrow along the shoreline.
