Bees, Kings Succumb to Nature

The Burlington Bees – Clinton Lumber Kings game last night (at Ashford University Field) was suspended by rain, with the score tied at one in the bottom of the second inning.


It’ll resume today, as part of a double-header, beginning at 12:30.



The Region-Eleven, Division-Two college baseball tournament was postponed again yesterday by wet grounds in Waterloo.   DMACC and NIACC are again scheduled to play today at 4, with the winner taking on SCC tonight at 7.



Wallace State University’s Aksel Olsen will begin defense of his NJC-DOUBLE-A, Division-One golf title today at Spirit Hollow in Burlington.   The competition runs through Friday, with 18 holes played each day.



Also in golf, the BHS girls placed second to Pleasant Valley in the MAC tournament at Glynns Creek.   Burlington’s Bailey Darnall(DAR-null) and Samantha Smith were both named first team all-conference.   Jaydn Ziegler was named to the second team.
