Obituaries Thursday May 22nd

James Thomas “Jim” Lynch, 81, of Burlington, passed away after a brief illness at 8:10 PM Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the home of his daughter surrounded by his family.

 

Born July 14, 1932, in Minneapolis, MN, he was the son of George Thomas and Ida Lynch. The family moved to Burlington while Jim was in his teens. He met his future wife Patricia Ann Dannies in high school and they were married in 1953. In 1987, after being together for 34 years, Patricia sadly predeceased him.

 

Jim was retired from Diamond Vogel Paints where he was a salesman.

 

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War in Austria.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Angela (Michael) Keyserling of Beaufort, SC and Juli (Brad) Weiss of Burlington; five grandchildren, Rachel, Jennifer, Harold, Dena, and Theodora; two great-grandchildren, Stills and Teddy; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Donna Putney.

 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.

 

The celebration of life for Mr. Lynch will be from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Friday, May 23, 2014, at Fraternal Order of the Eagles Burlington Aerie #150. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.

 

A memorial has been established for Chad Pregrucke’s “Living Lands and Waters”.
