A Macomb man is in trouble after allegedly producing counterfeit money.
Macomb Police received several reports made in the last couple weeks about the money being circulated through several Macomb businesses and banks.
Their investigation led them to Alvin Montgomery who lives at 321 N. McArthur Street, Apartment 1. It was revealed that Montgomery had burned the evidence in a small fire prior to officers making contact. The printer believed to be responsible for producing the counterfeit bills was recovered at the residence. Montgomery was charged with Obstructing Justice, Deceptive Practice, and Forgery.
