Bees Win as Fish Catches Big One

Michael Fish’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning…his second homer of the game…gave the Burlington Bees a 7-5 win over the Quad Cities River Bandits yesterday(Mon) at Community Field.

The two teams will play again tonight in Burlington and you can hear all the action on KBUR, beginning at 6:10.

In college baseball, the SCC Blackhawks were shut out by Madison(WI) College in the second round of the NJCAA, Division-2 World Series.   SCC will play again today at 3:30 against Mesa, Arizona. If they lose this afternoon, the Blackhawks are out of it…but if they win, they’ll play again Thursday night.

It’s tournament time(substate quarterfinals) for Iowa boys soccer and here are some of the games tonight:

Class 1A – Mediapolis at ND-WB, 6 pm

                   Columbus vs. Wapello at West Point, 5 pm

                   Central Lee vs. Holy Trinity at West Point, 7 pm

 

Class 2A – Fort Madison at Keokuk, 6:30 pm

                   Mt. Pleasant at Washington, 5 pm

 

Class 3A – Burlington at Cedar Rapids Jefferson, 5 pm
