Bandits Outscore Bees; SCC Season Over

The Burlington Bees and Quad Cities River Bandits slugged it out last(Tues) night at Community Field, but in the end the Bandits scored last to beat the Bees 10-9.

Burlington begins a 3-game series at Peoria tonight, and that’ll be followed by three more on the road at Cedar Rapids.   You can hear all the action, beginning tonight at 6:10, on KBUR.

 

In college baseball, SCC was eliminated from the NJC-double-A, Division-2 World Series yesterday by Mesa, Arizona.  The Blackhawks end their season at 45-21; that’s a new school record for wins.

And Davenport Assumption beat Mt. Pleasant twice, 10-3 and 10-0.

 

In girls softball…

Keokuk beat Burlington 3-0 and 20-8

Wapello 13, Winfield-Mt.Union 0

Columbus 16, WACO 0

Centerville split with Mt.Pleasant, winning 6-5 and losing 8-2

In high school golf…

The New London and Mt.Pleasant girls teams both qualified for the state tournaments, as did Central Lee’s Alex Krehbiel.   In 5A, the Burlington girls are done for the season; they placed 5th at the Region-4 tournament in Bettendorf.
