After a two-hour rain delay and 12 innings of play, the Burlington Bees lost to the Chiefs in Peoria early this morning.
The final score, after about six hours, was 2-1. The two teams will go at it again tonight and you can hear the game on KBUR, beginning with Michael Broskoski’s pre-game show, at 6:10.
In high school baseball…
Burlington dominated Ft. Madison twice, 12-0 (in 5 innings) and 15-5 (in 6).
Wilton beat Wapello twice, 17-3 and 11-1.
In girls softball…
WB-ND split with Ft. Madison, beating the Bloodhounds 10-0 (in 5 innings), and losing the second game 10-9. (WB-ND is ranked #8 in Class 3A.)

The Illinois Class 1A boys state track & field meet gets underway today at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. West Central, Illini West and West Hancock high schools are all represented. (The finals will be Saturday)
