Homer-Happy Bees Beat Kernels

The Burlington Bees hit three homers yesterday afternoon on the road, on their way to a 6-4 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

Today’s an off-day for the whole Midwest League and the Bees will return to Community Field tomorrow night, to begin a series with the Quad Cities River Bandits.   (You’ll be able to hear all the action on KBUR.)

Keokuk split with Mt. Pleasant, winning 2-nothing and losing 2-1.

Ft. Madison split with Washington, losing 8-2 then winning 4-1.

 

In soccer…Ft. Madison 3, Washington 2 (OT)

 *** And New London and Mt. Pleasant are each ranked second in Classes 1A and 4A, respectively, after one day of the girls state golf tournament.   Individually, Central Lee’s Alex Krehbiel is in second place in 3A.
