Bees Win; Playoff Hopes Alive

The Burlington Bees beat the Quad Cities River Bandits 6-3 last night at Community Field.

The Bees are now a-half-game behind the Bandits for third place in the Western Division and 1 ½ games behind Peoria for the first half (of the season) wild-card spot.   The Bees and Bandits play again tonight in Burlington and you can hear the game on KBUR, starting with the pregame show at 6:10.

In girls tournament tennis action at Iowa City…

ND-WB’s Stephanie Wills and Keokuk’s Alexis Kemp & Lakyn Boltz will represent southeast Iowa in the Class 1A singles and doubles competition. Wills is playing for the second year at the state tournament in singles, while Boltz & Kemp are competing in doubles.
