LeeCo Bd. to Meet with Man, IFC, Before Installing Water Main

WEVER, Iowa (AP) — Lee County supervisors are meeting with a resident before moving forward with plans to let a company install a water main near his property.

Ron Meller, of Wever, told supervisors during a meeting earlier this week that he wanted more input and information about the plans. He says he’s concerned the pipeline won’t be buried deep enough and would damage his property in the event of a break.

The Daily Gate City in Keokuk reports Meller owns the road near where the Iowa Fertilizer Company wants to install a water main. The city has easement rights.

Meller says he will let the company use the road, but he doesn’t want it damaged. Supervisors say they will meet with Meller and his attorney and others to discuss the issue.
