A Smithshire man was injured about 7:15 last(Thur) night when his bicycle was clipped by a livestock trailer, as both vehicles were eastbound on Illinois-116, just west of the Henderson-Warren County line.
30-year old Stutzman Felty was taken by ambulance to OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth with serious…but not life-threatening…injuries. The driver of the truck that was pulling the trailer, 44-year old Cory Jones of Wayland, Iowa, was ticketed for not slowing down in time to avoid the collision.
He told Illinois troopers that he didn’t see the bike until it was too late.
