Bees Take Twin Bill from Beloit

The Burlington Bees won two more last night, 6-5 and 3-1 over the Beloit Snappers at Community Field.

The double victory…coupled with Peoria’s win over the Quad Cities…puts the Bees one game up in the Western Division wild-card race, with six games to go in the first half of the season.     Tonight, the Bees try their luck in Clinton and the game with the Lumber Kings will be broadcast on KBUR, beginning with the pregame show at 6:10.

  

In girls high school soccer, Pleasant Valley ended Keokuk’s season with a 6-0 Class 2A regional final win over the Chiefs.   Keokuk closes out the year with a record of 15-4, while PV moves on to play Dallas Center-Grimes in the state quarterfinals on Thursday.

  

In girls high school softball, New London edged WB-ND 2-1.
