Bees on Precipice of Playoffs

The Burlington Bees beat the Clinton Lumber Kings 3-2 in 11 innings last night at Ashford University Field.

The victory, coupled with Peoria and Quad Cities losses, gives the Bees a two-game lead for second place and the first-half wild-card spot, with three games to go before the break.   Tonight, the Bees face the Kernels in Cedar Rapids and you can hear all the action on KBUR, starting with the pre-game show at 6:15.

  

In high school baseball…

Burlington’s Landon Summers threw a no-hitter in the second game of a double-header, allowing the Grayhounds to sweep Pleasant Valley 7-1 and 12-0 on the road.
