The Starr’s Cave Nature Center received a nice grant, that over the next five years will help fund Des Moines County Conservation Environmental Education efforts and facility renovations at the nature center.
The $50,000 grant came from the Harry & Virginia Murray Foundation. Renovation projects at Starr’s Cave include moving current office space to the lower level to optimize visitor services and expand exhibit space in the main exhibit area. The money will also help fund new interactive exhibits and displays.
The first phase of this project will begin in the fall.
