Man flown to hospital after Hancock Co. Crash

A Basco Illinois man was seriously injured yesterday night when he drove into the path of a semi.

34-year-old Heath Marmion was southbound on 1600E in Hancock County. After stopping at a stop sign he failed to yield the right of way and drove into the path of the semi that was driven by 37-year-old Michael Coon of Kahoka, Missouri. Marmion was not wearing a seatbelt and was hit on the passenger side. He received serious injuries and was flown to Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Coon was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Carthage where he was treated and released.

Marmion was cited for Failure to Yield and Failure to Wear a seatbelt.
