An elderly Good Hope(IL) man has died, after a Club-Cab truck rear-ended the rotary hay-rake he was pulling on U-S 67 in McDonough County late yesterday(Tues) afternoon.
86-year old Robert Goodpasture was knocked off his tractor by the force of the impact; he was taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to a bigger facility in Peoria, where he later died.
The driver of the truck, 48-year old Don Hawkins of Monmouth, and his passengers, two men from Bushnell and Table Grove, were all wearing seatbelts and escaped injury. Hawkins was cited for not slowing down in time to avoid the accident.
