Rumble on South 7th Street

Three young Burlington men are in jail, after a neighborhood disturbance in the 100 block of South 7th Street yesterday(Thur) afternoon.

The initial call came in just after 2:30 as “shots being fired,” and although there were guns displayed, police say it does not appear that any of them were discharged. In the end, within a short time of the first reports, 23-year old Calvon Miles was apprehended and charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. 20-year old Dwayne Jefferson was also picked up on the Intimidation charge and 16-year old Kijana Ivey was caught and will face counts of 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief and Carrying Weapons.

City police say the suspects threatened residents of 101 South 7th with a gun and vandalized one of their cars, after the father of a woman who lives in the home went there to try and throw her boyfriend out. The incident is still under investigation.
