A group of Southeast Iowa law enforcement officials conducted a traffic safety check point on June 19th at Highway 27 and 130th Street from 4-8pm.
All northbound vehicles were forced to exit into the Weight Station. During their traffic stop, they checked 677 vehicles. There was a total of 23 traffic citations which ranged from Driving While Suspended to Equiptment Violations. There were 221 warnings and 1 commerical vehicle was placed out of service.
Each year a safety checkpoint is done in Southeast Iowa to promote safe driving.
