The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is looking into another local scam.
They received a call yesterday from a concerned citizen about a suspicious phone call. The caller offers people 60 years of age or older a “deal” on a medial alert device and offers savings coupons for signing up. The caller then asks the person to provide their credit card information.
After receiving information about this type of call, the Sheriff’s Department indicated it to be a scam and fraudulent nature.
The Sheriff’s Department reminds people that you should use extreme caution with scams received over the phone or by mail. Never give out any personal information. `
