Crop Duster Crash near Carthage

A crop duster airplane crashed in a cornfield near Carthage yesterday afternoon.

The pilot, who is not from around here, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to WGEM, the property owner who saw the accident happen was surprised the pilot lived. The single-engine airplane was in pieces with the engine ripped off. The accident remains under investigation.
