Two Burlington residents were arrested over night yesterday for possession of marijuana. 24-year-old Matthew Banks II was arrested on a Des Moines County Warrant for Criminal Mischief, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and another Criminal Mischief charge after he kicked out the squad car window, shattering it. His girlfriend, 18-year-old Haley Whalen was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, interference with official acts, and carrying a weapon (spring loaded knife). The two were arrested at around 11:20pm on the 400 block of N. Main Street in Burlington.
