Lone Tree eliminated Notre Dame, by winning the Class 1A Substate-5 title game 2-1 in Washington(IA) last night. The Nikes end their season with a record of 17-10.
In 2A play, Iowa City Regina ended Louisa-Muscatine’s season with an 11-1, 6-inning victory at the substate final in Solon.
Tonight, Burlington plays at Iowa City West in a Class 4A Substate finals game at 7 o’clock.
In softball…
West Burlington-Notre Dame lost 5-2 to Mid-Prairie yesterday at the state tournament in Ft. Dodge and will get one final chance for redemption, when the Lady Falcons take on Spirit Lake at 10 o’clock this morning for 7th place in 3A.
***And the Burlington 9-10 Little League all-star softball team has reached the title game with an 11-nothing win over Central Iowa. The Burlington squad will take on Boone today at 5:30 in “pool” play, but is already guaranteed a spot in the championship game tomorrow.
