Bees Lose to Loons; BHS Baseballers Out at Substate Level

The Burlington Bees were shut out by the Great Lakes Loons 1-nothing last night at Community Field.

The two teams will go at it again tonight and you can hear the game on KBUR, beginning with the pre-game show at 6:10.

 

In high school baseball…

Iowa City West scored 8 runs in the first inning, on its way to a 14-4, five-inning win over the Burlington Grayhounds. It was the title game of the 4A substate competition, so Burlington ends its season with a record of 22-16.

  

At the girls state softball tournament…

The Lady Falcons of West Burlington-Notre Dame lost to Spirit Lake 3-2 yesterdaty and finished 8th in Class 3A.

 

And the Burlington Little League 9-10 All-Stars remained undefeated and un-scored upon in “pool” play at their state tournament in Des Moines. They beat Boone 21-nothing yesterday and will play for the championship tonight at 6 against Central Iowa, which beat Grandview 5-4 in its last pool game.
