Proclamation of Disaster Emergency for Louisa County

Governor Branstad has issued a proclamation of disaster emergency for Louisa County, for flooding and severe weather that began June 26th.

The Louisa County proclamation means that households with incomes of up to 200% of the federal poverty level (or a maximum of $39, 580 for a family of three) are eligible for grants of up to $5,000 for home or car repairs…replacement of clothing or food…and for the expense of temporary housing, due to storm recovery including flooding.

Applications are available on the Iowa Dept. of Human Services website and original receipts are required for anyone seeking reimbursement.
