Burlington to Approve 3 New Hires Tonight

On the Burlington School Board agenda tonight is the approval of 3 new hires.

They will first look to approve the new Director of Curriculum, Sharon Dentlinger at an annual salary of $100,000. Dentlinger has been responsible for curriculum and instruction development in 16 different districts. According to the agenda, she holds a Masters in Education from Drake University, she has a Superintendent Endorsement, and is working on her Doctorate in Education.

The second person they are looking to hire tonight is Tim Kesterke as their new Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds. Kesterke has been working a similar job in the West Burlington School District for the past 20 years.

WB Superintendent Dave Schmitt says they are sorry to see him go. Schmitt says Burlington offered Kesterke a salary that they couldn’t match, so he understands.

Kesterke has been offered an annual salary of $90,000.

The third item on the agenda tonight is to approve Matthew Murrary as the new Aldo Leopold Middle School Associate Principal with an annual salary of $70,000. Murray has taught history at BHS for 16 years now and holds a masters in Educational Administration from Western Illinois University.
The meeting tonight begins at 7.
